In January's magazine - Vol 14 No 2 - the project was a BBQ apron in readiness for Australia Day celebrations at the end of the month. The vegetables were done with a Babyock Embellisher and the pockets decorated with automatic stitches on a Janome sewing machine using Mettler neon threads.  A competition to win one of three packs of these Mettler neon threads, donated by McCalls Australia, was announced in the magazine.
The March issue - Vol 14 No 5 - of the magazine saw my denim bag which was made from a recycled denim skirt and a recycled floral skirt which was used for the lining , scarf, strap and embellishments. It also featured extensive use of built in machine stitches and a background of blue thread wound into the bobbin and stitched from the back of the denim in a wandering stitch (cable stitch). Mettler threads were used throughout.
May - Vol 14 No 7 - saw the publication of this wall hanging, made from Brown Milano paper which was free machined with Mettler Metallic threads, enhancing the design of the paper.  It is bordered with plaited ribbons and wool, with a beaded ribbon fringe and hung from a piece of driftwood.
July was the month in which a set of jewellery made from free machined threads was published in Vol 14 No 9.  The article was called Autumn Leaves.  The maple and rose leaves were made in a hoop on a soluble stabiliser and joined by stuffed tubular ribbon which was plaited.  Many thanks to The Thread Studio for supplying the beautiful Australiana Collection Kimberly Dreaming Victory threads for me to use.
In August(Vol 14 No 11 there was a Vogue pattern used to make a bag decorated with various circles, some made by using a Flower Stitch Foot and others with a drawing pin taped to the bed of the sewing machine to act as the pivot while sewing the circle.  Once again, the Kimberley Dreaming threads from The Thread Studio were used.
